Is that because of protectionist taxes? _________________ ---------------------

Part of it.
But Brasil is almost the exact opposite of here.
Materials, labor and land are cheap.
Electronics, cars and imported stuff are expensive. (brand names)
Put it this way...for our good friend Gui to own BOTH a Harley and BMW in Brasil......lets just say he must make a LOT of Reals(the money) in Brasil. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

The price of the Brick is a little high, I admit.
The final price of that bike, is like U$10.000,00.
Dave.
A XTZ 750 Yamaha, like a 1997 version, in good condition, is good to U$8.500,00.
A 1999 some U$9.500,00.
The prices are high here 'cause the number of taxes when new, and the limited numbers of bikes to choose.
Whem I foud my KLT, I was searching for 2 years....
My Springer I wait for 4 years to the previous owner wants to sell it!
That's Brazil!
