Hi there,

I would like to introduce myself, as I have just received my clearance for this forum (I've been reading it for some time now).
I'm tmoons, I am living in the Netherlands (Haarlem, near Amsterdam), this is my 7th or 8th bike in about 5 years and have the intention to keep this one Smile.

I ride a K1100RS with ABS-I, US-spec (I was sold to a Texan first… Smile) it came back to Holland in 1998 and I bought it of a trader in July 2008.
It is a lovely mystic red and has been taken apart a few times already.
What is done so far:
New (home made) sparkplug leads and NGK sparkplugs
New air filter
New inlet rubber parts (o-rings, bushings, and so on)
Cleaned up the throttle bodies (in and out side)
Replaced engine oil, gearbox oil brake fluids.
Replaced the lower rubbery bits on the front brake lines as they where blocking the return flow of fluids to the pump and making my brakes stick.
At this moment I am waiting on a new oxygen sensor in the exhaust, mine is officially dead Smile.

It now does about 35 miles to the gallon (US gallons) it did a lot better and I hope to get it up to the 45mpgs when that new sensor is in (and the whole thing is tuned as it should).

Happy riding!

as promised, a photo:

Welcome to the nut house- but if you have been reading here for a while you know that most of us are usually harmless.

Best of luck getting your brick into top running order.

John

That is indeed the case... I've labeled most of you as excentric but harmless ... Wink I do think I am one of the younger guys here... i'm born in 1982.... Smile
