Looks cool, but that's a ton of coin for luxury features imo. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

and I thought it came out back in December... http://www.k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3971&highlight=fuel+plus
It does have some totally cool features - temperature monitor, flashing red led, etc. But for that kind of money, I'll keep the one that lives where the clock used to... Besides, it would be a TPITA to pull out the fuel + and put the clock back at this point. _________________ Jim

The last owner of K1100RS that I bought last Fall had installed the older version where the clock was. Hate the %$!##@$ thing. Got it to display time and I leave it that way.
On all the previous bikes I've owned, "distance to empty" was mentally calculated from when I had to switch the tank valve to reserve.
Temperature? Well I'm outside, how does it feel to me?
I thought the point of riding was to get away from all the electronic crap that has invaded our lives. Do I really care about average speed or MPG's? NO!!
Ok, my rant is over, I had a second cup of coffee, I'm calming down. Phew!
As Emily Lotilla would say- "never mind"

Actually, distance to empty is the only one of the 40 functions I use. Who cares what time it is when you're out riding? You can see when the sun is going down...
I bet someone on the board would happily buy that older style fuel+ and send you clock to replace it I imagine you could easily get $150.00 or more for it. Hell, maybe you could even sell it for $500.00. Plus shipping, that is... _________________ Jim

Jim, you read my mind. I was just thinking that if someone was splurge on the new one I would offer to buy the older version.
Personally I've been procrastinating on the purchase of the $120 AudioVox Cruise because I don't think I do enough long distance highway riding to justify it. I cant even imagine why I would drop that much "coin" for something that would only have it's major benefits on the long road trips.
Same goes for GPS, I'd like to have a Zumo 450. Can't justify it right now, maybe later when there available at the Edge as a refurb and the price comes down more.
Oh-well, we can't take it with us. When I retire to the Holiday Inn Express maybe then I'll splurge for a good massuse.
Ride Safe.

The must not have been selling very well.
The price has dropped to less than $350. I wondered how long it would take, or how far it would come down. _________________ Ride safe.

Well, any offers for it?? I actually never use it for anything other than time- really, I do not touch it.
If you can send me the plain-vanilla clock, we can work out some $$. I even have a copy of the instruction book.

Bump. Try putting it in the for sale forum - if the price is right, Scott or JO will buy it!!! _________________ Jim

the new fuel+ is now down to $337 plus $12 S&H.
It has the following features:
MILES REMAINING IN YOUR TANK
FUEL ECONOMY
RANGE TRAK TO FUEL STOP
DISTANCE - TIME - AVERAGE SPEED
DUAL TEMPERATURE MONITOR
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MONITOR
WAYPOINT ENTRY
12 / 24 HOUR CLOCK
Definitely a lot more features than the old one - and the price is getting close to right. I think I paid about $229 for the older one I have.
John - I still say you should put yours in the for sale forum - and over at IBMWR.org - if you want to get rid of it. If you price it right, it'll sell. _________________ Jim

How difficult is it to remove? (how many connections are there?)
Where do I find a plain ol' OEM digital clock?
As you can see I did buy the bike with this item installed but have never used it. _________________ John & Cathy
