I found a program called Track 'n Share that will take your GPS tracks and the EXIF timestamps from digital pcitures and then place your pictures along your track when and where you took them.

Then add comments to the pictures. When you click on one of the blue dots it brings up your picture.

Then you can upload it to their hosting site. (not working now - I get errors during upload - damned freeware Evil or Very Mad )

You can also upload your track and photos to Google Earth from Track 'n Share with one mouse click.

Here's my track:

Turn on the photos and thunbnails appear along your track where you took the picture. Then put your mouse over the photos to enlarge them.

I zoomed in on Rattlesnake Grade - you can see my GPS track and the zoomable thumbnail of the picture I took there:

That's some cool chit, huh?

Drake,

Very interesting integration of software with your GPS.

But what you called the Rattlesnake Grade is I believe the Lewiston Grade, the old highway the climbs north out of Lewiston, Idaho.

The actual "Rattlesnake Grade" is a bit south and starts out as Washington 129 and then becomes Oregon 3. These roads run between Clarkston, Washington and Enterprise, Oregon.
