|
|
Hi - I have a 92 K11LT, on which the windshield won't work at all. The owner said it was working fine before he put the bike away for a year (before selling it it to me). I just get a click (I imagine this is the relay). Where can I start looking for problems? The fuse seems OK. I have taken off the motor and given it a spray with WD40, the connections don't seem particularly corroded.
Any advice on places to check would be most welcome!!
Cheers,

Check your guide tracks and make sure they move freely.
Easy enough to pop out the windshield system and check the innards.
A click to me means the motor is good but you have some binding. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

A click to me means the relay is working (or at least the relay coil is getting activated.)
I'd lube the rods with some silicone lubricant as suggested.
And if you do getit working, lube them anually. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks for your responses. That's why I demounted the motor from the tracks, I thought that might have been the problem. But I couldn't get it to turn even when running free (off the tracks).

Hi
It's possible to take the motor appart to clean and lube it in the right palaces.
The tricky one are to put it together again.
Done that so I will try to explain it tomorrow ( with a dictionary )

Hi Sven,
Thanks for that - I am also thinking it might be one of the two relays - I am hearing a click, but if there are two relays, perhaps the other one is dud? I should probably buy new relays first to check.
Cheers,
