can't find any 10-40???

The ratings are based on ambient temps. Although you're probably OK with 10W30, I think you'd be better off with 10W40.

"The difference is when the second number changes (ie. 10W40 or 20W50)- which determines the protection of a hot engine. The higher the second number the higher the protection- good for higher mileage engines that are driven in extreme conditions. The lower the first number, the better protection during cold starts."

I use it in my air cooled engines in the winter.

I was wondering if any one had used it and had problems in a K bike....

could it cause seals to fail, or burn more oil??

Forgive my basic knowledge of the colonies, but Georgia can get pretty hot during the spring and summer months Wink

An airhead enjoys generous cooling through the barrel and head fins.

On an K11, which is renowned for running hot, I suspect that you would push a 10-30 close to operating limits.

For the cost of 4l of a top brand semi-synth, this is a no-brainer Laughing
