I was draining my anti-freeze yesterday and when I went to put the water temp sender back in I used to much meat-head and twisted the thing off. Was able to easily easy-out it but now I have looked on 4 different online parts fiches and they all show a plug going where I have the sender. What's up with that? Anyone know what the part number is?
Thanks,

Thanks for the tip. Went back to the fiche and there it was. Seems like a strange place to have it.
Do you happen to have one in your spare parts bin you would be willing to part with?
PM me.
Thanks,

Hi, Milton,
I don't have one in my spare parts bin, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who has done it! I think I did it on my (first) K1100LT 7 or 8 years ago. I haven't done it since. Amazing how one learns... .

In case anyone is interested here is a picture of the internals of the water-temp sensor I twisted apart. Looks like the internal spring expands when hot and causes some resistance.
