I'm ready to change the plugs and am asking if I should know anything other than put Anti-seize on the thread and tighten to 20nm?

I would have added to make sure the plug caps are all the way on as they need quite a push to seat correctly. I didn't once and the cap had come off leaving me with a rough K75!

ah, the lesser spotted K50 Wink

A quick spray of WD40 or similar anti-corrosion spray into the plug cap will kep things running smoothly

Check them after 2-3k of replacing to make sure everything is where it should be.

2 of mine loosed in the socket after changing.

When you have torqued up the plugs, take a wee paint brush and add two blobs of paint on the metal body.
I place them horizontally, either side of the central core :

A quick visual inspection will show if the plug has moved at all Wink

Thanks for the sound input. I noticed that all the plugs were not in very tight. Interesting...

I just bought a Twinmax Carb Sync from ridenow.com. My next project will be to (learn how) and sync the throttle bodies before a trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan with the wife. Some of the spark plugs I removed form the bike where light collored and some where darker. I assume this mean that the cylinders were running richer or leaner than each other.

Please feel free to chime in if you have any experience or tips with using the Twinmax.

Stuart
