Here ya go, Ted - you've been waiting for this!

Seattle trip (the speedo is 5 mph fast) I think this was on some really nice two lane in MT

The K from some lookout tower

Prairie sky

Volborg, MT has it all!

The Howdy Hotel - need I say more?

Smooth roads, blue skies - that's all I need

Prairie home

1926 Bulldog Mack truck - built by International Motor Company, NY - seen in Drummond, Montana

Note the chain drive - I was standing nearby when the geez and his gal pulled up in this truck and walked over to the diner

McCormick - right or left hand drive...

Exit 0???

I guess Smokey the Bear didn't live in Idaho in 1910...

Right after I crossed the Columbia River Gorge

Fuscia tree - Victoria BC. Took the high speed ferry from Seattle for the day - very cool!

Recreation area below Mt Rainier NP - mud wrestling anyone?

Mt Rainier NP - not all that snow is glacier - some of it is just snow fields. The glaciers are going fast.

Mt Rainier NP - glacial river (well, it used to be a river)

The K in Freemont, Seattle. I left Richmond, IN late Thursday morning - arrived Seattle Saturday evening in time for dinner.

Hey! Wait a minute - that looks like Drake!

Snoqualmie Falls. Drake and I rode out there. Nice ride - thanks, Drake.

Homeland Security's finest. You can't see the doof because the van is parked there so he can listen to the ballgame... just as well...

Road closed by the Reichstag

Closed

Closed

Closed

Paranoia strikes deep...

I was almost at the end of this unusual road when I realized I should get a picture of it Wink

5 person suspension bridge - it was full - and my bike was 10 minutes away in some parking lot with all my goodies in the tank bag

Going to the Sun road. Best to park the bike and take the shuttle both ways so you can actually look at something other than the yellow line

GTTSR tunnel

Fire damage at the switchback. GTTSR is undergoing major repairs - actually, restoration and renovation

GTTSR No - I did not pee there!

Not nearly as smart as donkeys...

GTTSR late in the day

I love abandoned prairie buildings - there's something very elegant yet wistful about them - elevators, barns, houses...

Out in the middle of nowhere MT - this building, now owned by some German guy, is packed full of cool old cars

Sweet. Nice fins!

Amerada Hess is pumping it up for you - Tioga, ND

Damn, I just love the wide open spaces and good roads out west...

Well, that was a pain in the ass, and a labor of love. I think I started this at midnight or so, it's now 4AM! Picasa doesn't give the exact location - or if they do, I haven't found it. I have to delete 8 characters from the end of the line, and then take out a whole line of something in front of the location. When I copy the link, it looks like this: <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/jim.vaughn6/SeattleTrip/photo?authkey=WBZ2yf32lSQ#5188617144128692722"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/jim.vaughn6/SAGrzVdK4fI/AAAAAAAAAQU/AUbX3ebFT28/s800/DSC03207.JPG" /></a> The part in red is what I have to remove manually. Even then, if there's a comment for the picture, it doesn't transfer. If anyone else uses a mac and Picasa, and you know a better way to do this, please let me know.

I've got some more pix from that trip, and some cool pix from some other trips. When I get some more time or figure out a better way to post them, I'll do it.

1) the Commonwealth of VA, in all their infinite wisdom, would not give me a small tag in 2001. A regular tag is wider than the back of the trailer - so, for years, I've kept the tag in the trailer. VA now has small tags, I have one for the trailer - but, the spring is shot, and the back tire has worn a hole in the mud flap where the tag would be. Have to take the trailer apart to change the spring - apart, as in frame off.

I've pulled that trailer all over the US and Canada with no tag - no one has ever even looked at it sideways. Well, except for that asshole in the toll booth in NY city - charged me a fortune - more than you'd pay in a friggin' Hummer - because of the trailer. I fixed that real quick - got a smart tag/ez pass.

The high speed ferry from Nova Scotia to Maine glanced at the trailer - figured it was nothing more than rolling luggage, and didn't charge me for three axles. HOORAY Nova Scotia, BOO New York Exclamation

2) Hey, give me a break here. I don't have headshots laying around on my hard drive. I don't take very many pix of my self - and other than that ride with Drake, and brunch with Ted, I haven't met any other K11OGers. Woulda stopped at Mystic Red's, but he and the fam were camping that weekend...

There's this one from 6/26/05... Jim, the K and the Uni-go in New Orleans near Bayou St John.

Thanks - I guess I'll find or take a pic to post over in the headshots thread.

This pic was taken when I was on my way to Houston to get the stainless steel fasteners. Still had the black/rusty ones.

Great ride and pictures, Jim!
Long straights, tasteful twisties... a nice combination!
And that Mack BullDog! What a trruck! In that times a man must be real hard bones to drive a truck, for all day long... no power steering, no servo assisted brakes, no air suspension...
Here in Brazil is only one KLT in tha color scheme like yours.
Guilherme.

Denial is a wonderful thing... Very Happy

I left for that trip August 19th. Went through the same storm system that wiped out the Moto Guzzi National Rally.

OUTSTANDING RR!

I've been across Going to the Sun road three times and each was like I had never been there before.

And I've slept on the slopes of Rainier.

It is always a treat to see places I've been thru the eyes of other travelers.
Very Happy
