I saw three major accidents on I-5. They had all four lanes closed for half an hour on this one. I think it was a fatality. A small Mercedes somehow got sideways and was T-boned right at the driver's door at 75mph by a Jap car.
Some dipstick who couldn't be bothered to drive 50 yards up the shoulder to use the emergnecy vehicle turnaround. He got stuck.
One of the other accidents was a sleet storm that instantly left 1/3" of sleet onthe roadway. A van then flew across the median and through opposing traffic, hit one car and then kept going off of the other side of the roadway. I think he just clipped one front bumper - lucky guy. If I'd been there 10 minutes earlier....
I didn't take any more pictures until Sunday morning.
I freeloaded near Eureka at the house of a guy from the ADV board. There was another guy from Seattle freeloading there too.
One of my favorite signs - the start of Hwy 1 from Leggett down to the coast. Wheeeeee! I'll have to ride back up this road in the very near future. DANG!
The coast at last.
The town of Point Arena
YIKES! Dinosaurs!
I was stopped for Coke break. This guy on a bicycle rode up and asked me for change.
My helmet - this bee had a very bad day on Sunday.
Hmmm... no traffic and an endless twisty road - life sucks sometimes.
I wouldn't trust a shop with a name like this:
The coast from Pt. Reyes. Sure was windy out there.
Gee, aren't they cute?
Baby needs new shoes!
Baby got new shoes.
Tuesday morning - ready to rock and roll...
Riding pillion:
Pigeon Point Lighthouse:
It looks like it's going to be another sucky day.
Another one of my favorite signs - heading south out of Carmel towards Big Sur:
Bixby Bridge panorama shot:
Point Sur:
Poser shot:
Where I saw some migrating gray whales.
Lazy sea lions
Riding pillion again:
Mmmmmm...58.....

My dad's fine. Everything went great and he was out of the hospital the next morning. It's pretty amazing that they can ram a tube up your femural artery and plant a stent in your heart, huh? Then you're up and about the next day.
What visor? If it's not raining I wear a half helmet on the LT. Full face helmets are for wimps who plan to crash. (That's a joke BTW.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Forgot the well wishes for Duckdad.
But given the stuff his offspring is made of, I had no doubt he would do great.
He slim like you Drake? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Yes, and the correct term is svelte.

My digital camera only has a 2x optical zoom. Caprturing whale spouts at 200 yards just ain't gonna happen.
Here's a picture of a gray whale's tale that I took while fishing in Cabo San Lucas a few years ago:

Probably the last bee in California. No almond crop this year...
Great photos, as usual.

Very inspiring ride, Duke!
The asphalt in USA looks like a gass surface!
Here in Brazil we must pay attention to the holes in the tarmac, challenging our wheels....
I had my front wheel kneaded some time ago.
