So, what you did was just put some load resistors across the 30 and 87 terminals of the fan relay? I know they.re not labeled like that but that's the equivalent to a normal relay. In my crude graphic below, the two bottom blades, right?

1) So what resistors did you finally end up with? Got a link to a product page or part number somewhere?

2) You used multiple resistors, right? Did you wire them in series or in parallel.

Here's some BMW parts that can be used for fuel line and fuel rail insulation:

Some of the two valve Ks had tubular insulation around the fuel lines. Part number 13311461507 is a 170mm length of fuel line insulation. It costs $2 per 170mm section so it's not as cheap as hardware store stuff but certainly not BMW priced. I'd guess you'd need 5 or 6 of those, maybe more.

Also 2V K100s (and the K75RT) had fuel rail insulation - Part 13531460584 - $17. Wouldn't hurt to zip tie one of those around your fuel rail. Might not be a perfect fit be but should be pretty close.

And if you're gonna disconnect your fuel lines to insualte them, it's an excellent time to empty out your tank so that any water in the bottom of the tank isn't corriding the welds so they'll crack in the future.

Tank knee pads are still available - at about $100/pair!

What I'd like to try is find some 12V fans that can really move air and install those on the insides fo the fairing vents. Hopefully the air wouldn't wrap around the fairing edge at speed and just end up scorching the outsides of your legs instead of the insides. I've looked at oil cooler fans but they're pretty pricey for just experimenting. The ones I was looking at were aftermarket stuff but I guess if you could find oil cooler fans for a mass produced jap car that they'd be affordable.

For an RS, another option would be to get rid of the RS lowers, radiator panel and belly pan and just put some K100RS lowers and a radiator grill on. The exposed valve and crank covers allowed some decent heat dissipation on the K100RS. (I noticed this when I went for a ride in topsiders one day on my K100RS4V. Boy did my ankles get hot quickly in 80+ temps )

I've gone through and applied the BMW foil-backed insulation under the tank and side panels, rodded out and cleaned the radiator, etc. The best solution for me was to install a weather-proof rocker switch in the left side / top vent in the fairing next to the tank that manually turns on the fan. Whenever I'm in traffic or forced to go slowly on a warm day, I just leave the fan on all the time until I hit the open road and the air flow from speed can cool the bike down. I've not been scorched since installing the switch. If you can keep the engine / tank from getting too hot, it stays managable.
