I bought a new (used) front wheel for my '94 K75 (non-ABS) & have been trying to fit a new (used) set of rotors on it. The rotors are non-ABS & came from a K75RT.
When I had new wheel bearings put into the wheel, the service guy mentioned he had to put in the type of bearing for ABS, which is heavier-duty because of the more massive rotor. It didn't occur to me at the time that that meant I might have problems putting it on a non-ABS bike.
The left rotor seems ok, but the right one stands out so far it almost touches the fork, & it sits so far toward the outboard side it's difficult to get the caliper on. The outboard-side pad has no room to squeeze in & the inboard-side overextends.
At this point I'm looking for (1) verification that the problem is that the wheel dimension for the ABS type is causing the problem, and (2) any ideas for resolving it short of having to buy yet another wheel & make sure it's non-ABS??

Uhms...
the wheels of a k75 are non abs specific..
there is a difference in the type of wheel fitted, a difference between the multi spoked wheel (most common) and the 3 spoked wheel (which look like the K1100's wheels.
in order to fit a 3 spoked wheel you need a different spacer ring on the axle shaft. it sounds to me you may have the incorrect spacer.

I call BS on that too. The wheels are the same. The only difference is the rotors and the spacers.
