I am eagerly awaiting my Remus to come back from getting ceramic coated, (got it used for 125+40 shipping+300$ ceramic coating for can and headers) so 465$ total.
Anyway, my question is this: possible to swap out the pipe without taking off the lower fairing on a 93 LT?
Heard that you have to remove the lower fairing, but eyeballing it from below all I see is that I have to remove the left crashbar and the bolt holding the center stand.
Thoughts? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

IIRC, you don't have to remove the fairing. Post pix when you get it done. _________________ Jim

It depends on how the headers are configured. For example, the stock headers allow eays access with a 12mm deep socket and an extension. On one of my Staintunes this was not the case. I was able to get the headers on my LT w/o removing the fairing but it was tricky. I had to come in from the side and turn a couple of the nuts 1/6 of a turn at a time - a bit time-consuming but easier and faster than taking the lower off. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

With that much coin invested in it you better believe I will post a series of pics.
@Drake Given the fact that the bolts are seated North-south, cant use just use a long enough extension to clear the fairing? Or is it a leverage thing? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

If I recall correctly, on those headers, the pipe coming back from 1 or 2 was in the way and precluded the use of a socket w/ extension on the outside nut on 3 and/or 4 - which is why I had to go in from the side with a box wrench. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
