Yep, I replaced the bearings with the brass bushings. Works great! I had purchased a bearing set the cages around the bearings seemed frail. Better idea.

To complete this message.

I removed the starter and checked it by running it off the battery. Works. Took another 2 evenings to get the bike back together.
