I had pulled the everything back to do that engine spline. This was 2 years ago and found damage to the threads for the inner Allen bolt that holds the Final Drive.

Yep, I replaced the bearings with the brass bushings. Works great! I had purchased a bearing set the cages around the bearings seemed frail. Better idea.

Yep.. did you pull the alternator? That's the noise right? I had that problem last month due to removing the tranny to check the spline and relube... then the bike rattled at start and stop... Sooo p ... |

I removed the starter and checked it by running it off the battery. Works. Took another 2 evenings to get the bike back together.
