I've heard of a problem like this in mid-range rpm. It was a bad throttle position sensor. You may want to check it with a multi meter.

Cottonwood Lakes 11,200 feet....but you have to hike in 6 mi. It's in the Eastern Sierra's just south of Mt. Whitney.

Thanks for posting the pictures Drake. The day started in the valley with a gloomy cloud cover. At about 6000' we broke out of the clouds and the pictures speak for themselves, Big Bear is at 8000'.
