I also added another bolt in between the two original bolts.

For a 1993 K1100LT - this is the piece that bolts to the forward frame w/4 small bolts.
Most likely will be found bent or cracked/broken.
Mine has 3 of the 4 corners broken.

I had an engine temp sensor that sort of did that same thing. Sometimes run fine for a few days and then cut out when hot.

Read the mans posting again - he marked the d/shaft with a sharpie and determined it had spun inside the rubber sleeve.
Stop trying to make it a clutch issue. |

I would also mark the camshaft retaining caps so as to reinstall in the same place.
And before installing & torquing the camshaft sprocket check your valve clearances - although on second tho ... |
