Pins 21 and 26 in the connector are what ground the electronics. That other one just grounds the housing.



That would make sense.

I had all sorts of problems when the motronic wasnt held ...

My bike exhibited similar symptoms several weeks after I replaced the battery last year. Long story short: Check that you have at least 2 heavy cables running to the ground terminal on your battery.

Check the "ground" at the back of the Motronic unit as well. You shold have a lead directly back to the battery negative !

Anybody got any pictures where this little shocker is?

Servicing isn’t a problem, although, and I don’t know for sure, the valve adjustments may be difficult.

It may be a dodgy earth somewhere.

I had similar problems and found it was the earth behind the battery holder.

Make sure its not loose/dirty.

On my 97 LT, there is a small black connector attached to the Motronic that ties it to one of the 2 ground cables on the battery. You might check to see if you have the same.

I experienced very similar symptoms a while back.
I found that my LT had a ground (earth) cable that had fallen behind my battery and was making intermittent contact with the frame.

Seems sensible it could be the Temperature sensor. I will check it out.

It wouldnt be the air/petrol mix though would it?
